About Us

Read our story

Founded by cousins, Daniella Kueck and Natalie Smit, who grew up in Africa together, Tanzanite Travels is a female-led, family business.

"Our fathers, two tight-knit brothers, were in the travel industry from a young age, so we've been raised to explore and encouraged to seek travel at every opportunity. As little girls we would go on frequent trips with our family to any and every new place, always seeking to see whats over the horizon. It was a great privilege, and we learnt so much and met so many inspiring people.

Now, 33 years on, we want to share our expansive network and depth of experience with you, our treasured guest!"

The Wild One

Daniella embodies the spirit of adventure! She has spent twelve years as a field guide in Africa. From humble beginnings in the Kruger National Park to the luxurious Sabi Sands Big-5 Private Game Reserve, Daniella has seen sights most people only dream of! She spent years trekking with Gorillas in the Congo, and more recently she's been guiding photographic tours to view the wild tigers at a one-of-a-kind rewilding reserve in South Africa. From leading expeditions in Kenya to hiking up volcanos in Iceland, Daniella is a true modern explorer.

The Soulful One

Natalie has a penchant for out-of-the-box thinking. With a decade in the marketing industry managing big brands, Natalie has the resourcefulness to turn dreams into reality. A wanderer herself, she has many travel miles under her belt, across three continents - from backpacking routes to five-star stays and everything in between. A keen yogi since 2007, Natalie is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor, meditation guide and certified life coach with a special focus on exploring the feminine psyche. She brings these skills to the fore in her program designs for women's trips.
